Why do we feel stressed at times?
We feel stressed when we can't cope with our workload, or handle our problems. We may have excellent coping skills for several areas and limited resources in a few.
Some people seem to be resistant to stress, whereas others are much more sensitive to stress. Some of us have a personality which doesn't experience negative emotions like anxiety, fear, anger, sadness as much as others when bad things are happening.
When i am stressed, i would switch on the tv for 'Just For Laughs', read the 'fml-your everyday life stories' site for jokes, chomp on spicy chips, start blasting music or have a good laugh with a close friend. Food makes me happy!
I guess we can combat stress by having a positive attitude.
Have you seen the insurance agents at the MRTs or shopping malls? They have a quota to reach for the day/week, and it seems like a really challenging task because people are always trying to shun these insurance agents. It is a really stressful job, but they maintain a positive attitude anyway and try to deal with the challenges they face.
However, stress can be a good thing. It gives us the drive to get something done. Once you have completed the task, you will be rewarded with a sense of achievement and pride, and here comes satisfaction!
