Some couples like to behave intimately in public.
I think it is odd to behave in such an intimate manner in front of so many strangers, but these couples probably really like the attention they recieve. There is nothing wrong with acting intimate in public, but sometimes these couples overdo it and it makes people feel disgusted with them.
Since the guy is a Caucasian, and the westerners are usually more open-minded, he probably felt that it is normal to indulge in such a passionate kiss with his girlfriend in public. However, he should have beared in mind that this is Singapore, and that the people here are more conservative.
I think the fine of $500 for acting intimately on the train is pretty interesting. Imagine a scenerio where the SMRT officer (who always patrol the train) comes up to a pair of attention-seeking couple, asks them to stop kissing and then issues them a fine.
Although it is okay to behave intimately in public, these couples shouldn't overdo it. Hopefully the thought of '$500 fine' would reduce the number of couples behaving like an 'eyesore' to the public.

Teenage nowadays do not know what is called self-respect. This young couple behaving very intimately in public shows that they do not know what is self-respect. What would people think of you? Doing this kind of thing in public place? Did u ever think of that? Why must you do it somewhere so open? If you really don't want people to invade your privacy do it somewhere private and not somewhere which is so open! If they are doing in a room and the curtains are close do u think we can invade their privacy?
ReplyDeleteTeenage do this intimately behavior in public also depend on whom they mix with and where they spend most of their time apart from academic studies. They should also learn more about moral values. No harm being friends but don’t do too over. On the other hand, Singaporeans of the elder generation are too conservative. This kind of thing is so common now.
It's common for teens to date. I'm not encouraging teens to make out in public, what I'm saying is that 'TEENS', should be aware and able to know the consequences of their actions. But, if the people taking pictures from the window -like a stalker, this should be an article about the people taking photo of this couple and posted the title why people takes photos of young couples. Privacy of couple fails. Do you really think that all teens are so ignorant of acting 'THAT' indecent in public?
